Sheriff's Office Reminds Motorists to Take Precautions for Icy Monday Morning Commute

Evansville Vanderburgh Central Dispatch reported 40 crashes and vehicle slide offs within Vanderburgh County and the City of Evansville today. Sheriff Dave Wedding would like to remind motorists that the majority of our local roadways are still slick. Please allow more time for travel and reduce your speed. Don't attempt to drive without thoroughly removing the ice from your vehicle windows. Please take your time as you leave your home and watch your step. Extra deputies have been assigned to assist motorists who run into trouble during the Monday morning commute.
