Lieutenant Kirk Byram

Lieutenant Kirk Byram was raised in Evansville, Indiana where he attended Evansville Central High School. After high school, he attended the University of Southern Indiana where he received a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Sociology with a Criminal Justice Concentration. He later received his Master’s Degree in Criminology from Indiana State University. Lt. Byram served as a Reserve Deputy from 1991 until 1993 when he was hired as a Merit Deputy with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. He has served as a Patrolman in Motor Patrol and Field Training; a Sergeant in Motor Patrol, Field Training, Detention, and Criminal Investigations; and a Lieutenant in Fleet, Motor Patrol, and Detention. He has served as an instructor in Firearms, Emergency Vehicle Operations, SPEAR, Reality Based Training, and multiple law enforcement topics. He is currently 2nd and 3rd Shift Assistant Jail Commander.
