Lieutenant Jana Wade was born in Evansville, Indiana and grew up in Newburgh where she attended Castle High School. After high school, Lt. Wade attended the University of Southern Indiana. She has been with the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office since 1992. Lt. Wade began her career as a Civilian Property and Evidence Clerk and was later sworn in as a Merit Deputy in 1995. She has worked as a deputy and supervisor in Motor Patrol, the Training Division, the Court Security Unit and the Jail. She has held the rank of Sergeant and Lieutenant. Currently, Lt. Wade is the Commander of the Professional Standards Unit. Lt. Wade is a graduate of Leadership Evansville and serves on the Board of Directors for the YWCA.
