At approximately 1:52 am, Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Deputies observed a black, 2006 Buick Lacrosse traveling southbound on N. St. Joseph Avenue. Deputies had information that the car was being driven by a Charles Michael Kasmer. Deputies knew Kasmer to have a felony warrant for narcotics.
When deputies attempted to stop the car at N. St. Joseph Avenue and Albert Avenue, Kasmer sped off and a pursuit ensued. When Kasmer attempted to escape on foot, A deputy sheriff and his K9 partner, apprehended Kasmer after a short foot pursuit.
When deputies inventoried the vehicle, they located a bag of methamphetamine on the driver’s side floor board and a small baggie of methamphetamine outside the car where Kasmer fled. The approximate weight of the methamphetamine was 14.5 grams. Also located in the vehicle under the seat was a BB gun which looked like a real firearm.
Kasmer was taken to Deaconess Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
